Junior Structural Engineer
About The Position
Parsons is seeking a Junior Bridge Engineer to join our team in Centreville, VA, Baltimore, MD, or Washington, DC. Location: Centreville, VA; Baltimore, MD; Washington, DC (Hybrid Work Model) In this role, you will work on a variety of bridge projects, including concrete and steel bridges, deck and superstructure rehabilitations, and other innovative designs. You will gain hands-on experience and develop the technical expertise needed to deliver high-quality bridge designs. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
- Typically 1+ years of related work experience in bridge or structural engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or other relevant certifications may be required.
- Proficiency in CAD and other engineering software tools is essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and designing bridge structures to ensure structural reliability, resource efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct and support In-Service Bridge Inspectors in the inspection, documentation, and quantification of deficient bridge elements.
- Perform conventional and moderately complex bridge engineering tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop engineering computations, material quantity take-offs, cost estimates, surveys, and designs.
- Develop CAD drawings and Collaborate with CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and Engineers to support project delivery.
- Contribute to quality and continuous improvement through innovative thinking and creative problem-solving.
- Build and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
