Naik Consulting Group is currently seeking a Junior Structural Engineer to join our growing transportation and infrastructure team. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer eager to develop technical skills, gain hands-on project experience, and work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and construction professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering (Master’s degree a plus)
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience (internship or co-op experience considered)
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Familiarity with structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD, RAM, or similar)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (experience with Revit is a plus)
  • Basic understanding of transportation infrastructure design standards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree a plus
  • Experience with Revit is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the analysis and design of structural components for transportation and infrastructure projects (e.g., bridges, retaining walls, culverts, stations, and other civil structures)
  • Prepare structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
  • Support construction engineering and inspection activities, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, geotechnical, construction management, and inspection staff
  • Perform site visits and field observations as needed
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and agency requirements (e.g., AASHTO, DOT, local agencies)
  • Support project schedules, budgets, and quality control procedures
