Internship conversion position for the Engineering Applications Department within the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD). This position will be full-time, 100% onsite at our office in El Segundo, CA Job Summary Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our Intelligence Community, DoD, and civilian customers. The Engineering Applications Department (EAD) develops a wide variety of innovative tools and applications to support civil, commercial, and national security space systems. From web, cloud, and desktop visualization to virtual and augmented reality; EAD evaluates and creates unique visual experiences that present data and analysis to key decision-makers. We are looking for a Junior Software Integration Engineer (Associate Member of Technical Staff – Systems Software Engineer) to join the Intelligent Ops and Software Integration team that supports our customer laboratories in developing software solutions that include life and characterization software, software delivery, middleware development, and data visualizations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university program in Computer Science, Engineering or a related STEM field (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months)
  • Prior internship at The Aerospace Corporation.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • 0-1 year of industry work experience
  • Demonstrated skill in object-oriented programming languages and modern web frameworks.
  • Experience in C++, Java, or Python.
  • Experience developing software for laboratory equipment
  • Ability to work both independently, and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Willing to travel occasionally to work location or customer site approx. 5%
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • GPA 3.5 or higher
  • Active security clearance
  • Experience in full stack development
  • Experience in developing and deploying software for different Platforms and Operating Systems
  • Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud

Responsibilities

  • Support industry leading scientists and engineers in the development of maintainable cloud native web applications as well as development of backend service-oriented architecture components
  • Provide technical support in application architecture and development
  • Build user interfaces with advanced visualizations to enhance data analysis and decision-making processes
  • Interface with a wide variety of Engineering and Technology Group (ETG), launch, satellite, and other program office customers
