About The Position

L3Harris is seeking an experienced and highly motivated embedded software engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded software development and experience with digital signal processing (DSP). This position involves design, implementation, verification and troubleshoot of real-time embedded software and signal processing algorithms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 0 - 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience in Embedded Software or DSP.
  • Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems design.
  • Development experience with the Linux OS.
  • Proficiency with C++ and C programming languages.
  • Proficiency with multi-threaded, multi-core, and real-time operating systems.
  • Experience with object-oriented software development.
  • Understanding of Design, Implementation, Integration and Testing of large software systems.
  • Experience with embedded software emulators/debuggers.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team including hardware, software, and systems engineers.
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing DSP algorithms.
  • Experience simulating and analyzing DSP algorithms.
  • Experience optimizing software for performance, power consumption, and memory usage on various hardware platforms.
  • Experience using test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Experience with radio communications including waveforms, modulations, coding schemes and digital signaling.
  • Experience with communications security (COMSEC) and transmission security (TRANSEC) concepts and algorithms.
  • Experience with software development using artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with an Agile team of experienced software engineers on projects that involve the development and analysis of innovative real-time signal processing solutions.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in DSP technology and apply new techniques and methodologies.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of DSP solutions and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
