About The Position

The Junior Software Engineer position at ASRC Federal Netcentric Technologies, LLC involves supporting a USAF contract at Hill AFB, Utah. The role focuses on software development and modifications for operational flight programs, requiring collaboration with various personnel and the ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment. The ideal candidate will possess programming skills in C/C++ and have a foundational understanding of software design lifecycle processes.

Requirements

  • Must possess an active Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • 0-3 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize personal tasking and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Independent thinker capable of performing high-quality work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Programming skills in C/C++ or other languages for embedded microprocessor systems.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, Agile/Scrum environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional experience in a software development environment, including Python, XML, HTML, JavaScript, Perl, ASP, and/or similar scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Unix, Solaris, VMS, RTOS, and/or others.
  • Experience with LabView, ADA, C, C++, .Net technology, Java, Fortran, Assembly, Jovial, Visual Basic, and/or other programming languages.
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553B Bus Monitor functions and communication.
  • Experience with A-10 avionics.
  • Familiarity with IBM Rational Team Concert and Microsoft Azure DevOps software.
  • Experience in Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery Software Development.

Responsibilities

  • Support Operational Flight Program (OFP) software development and modifications by collaborating with engineers, equipment specialists, and Program Managers.
  • Research, design, develop, test, and maintain integrated computer software systems.
  • Provide support utilizing programming languages such as C, C++, ADA, and Java.
  • Execute software projects with an understanding of the full software design lifecycle from requirement gathering to production.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain software applications for avionics and support equipment.
  • Work with a range of programming languages, tools, and platforms to ensure software meets operational and performance requirements.
  • Perform testing and debugging to ensure seamless system functionality.
  • Provide guidance to teams in solving complex technical challenges.
  • Assist in the implementation of Technical Orders (TOs) and technical data.
  • Work in a collaborative, Agile Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment.
