About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Junior Software Developer to be part of the mission solution and help lead SSA’s Digital Modernization Strategy. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
0-2 years of experience
Basic knowledge in foundational technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Proficiency in one or more languages (ie Java, Python, C#)
Understanding of Angular, .NET Web API, React, or Node.js
Understanding of Git, GitHub, Docker and RESTful APIs
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.
Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week.

Nice To Haves

Ability to leverage AI tools
Experience with SQL/databases.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and writing skills
Passion and drive to learn new technologies quickly
Basic understanding of modern software development tools (e.g. CI/CD) including Bitbucket, Jenkins, VersionOne/Agility, Jira, Confluence, etc.
Familiarity with LLMs, AI API integration and debugging AI-generated code
Experience with Apache POI, iText, PDFBox, and other similar libraries for file format conversion

Responsibilities

Perform technical tasks as assigned, including software development, technical analysis/research, debugging/testing, etc.
Attend team meetings and agile ceremonies and participate in the software engineering lifecycle
Analyze and improve code and participate in code peer review process to ensure the highest degree of software quality
Communicate clearly and effectively with Leidos team members as well as SSA leaders in all team meetings/discussions
All other duties as assigned or directed
