About The Position

The Junior Server Administrator is a professional responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. They will install hardware and software and participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs for LAZ Parking. The Junior Server Administrator will actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within LAZ.

Requirements

  • An associate degree in a technology field or currently working on obtaining an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Microsoft training and certification or other formal IT education will be considered a strong asset.
  • Basic knowledge of server administration with Windows Server, virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Hyper-V, and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • Understanding of networking and firewalls, such as IP addressing, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with VPN technology and configurations.
  • Experience with administration of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Intune, Autopilot, Azure, Entra ID, and/or Remote Desktop software.
  • Understanding of and experience with parking technology solutions is desired.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automation tools & scripting, including PowerShell.

Responsibilities

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers and networks while ensuring changes are adequately documented.
  • Monitoring server performance and maintaining system security.
  • Troubleshooting server and network issues.
  • Ensuring the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
  • Ensuring backup and recovery systems are operational and tested.
  • Coordinating with IT team members to meet the company's technology needs.
  • Escalating issues as needed.
  • Answer and troubleshoot highly critical issues after-hours, as needed.
  • Writing and maintaining documentation for the internal knowledge base system.
  • Maintaining service level agreements for server uptime and performance.
  • Improving system performance and integrity by identifying problems and recommending changes.
  • Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and maintaining personal networks.
