About The Position

One of TEKsystems ’ higher ‑education clients is seeking a Junior Security Analyst to join their information security team. This is an entry ‑level opportunity for someone early in their security career who wants to grow in a stable environment with strong internal career progression. The role supports the monitoring and protection of both online and on ‑premises systems, helping identify and mitigate security risks before incidents occur. This is a new role created following recent internal team changes. Due to internal promotions and restructuring, the organization is adding a junior ‑level Security Analyst to support day ‑to ‑day security operations.

Requirements

  • Junior or entry ‑level information security experience
  • Minimum experience requirements: 2+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, OR 4+ years of relevant experience without a Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience does not need to be in a specific security specialty

Responsibilities

  • Monitor security systems and network activity for suspicious behavior
  • Assist with identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security risks
  • Support responses to security alerts, incidents, and potential breaches
  • Help implement, maintain, and update security policies, controls, and tools
  • Ensure security systems and software (e.g., firewalls, encryption tools) are up to date
  • Monitor system access and maintain security logs and related data
  • Conduct vulnerability testing, risk assessments, and internal/external security audits
  • Assist with penetration testing of networks, systems, and web ‑based applications
  • Analyze security incidents to determine root causes and support updates to incident response and disaster recovery plans
  • Coordinate security efforts with third ‑party vendors as needed
  • Assist with developing security procedures and training employees on security awareness
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the security function
