The Junior Quality Assurance Analyst - IT is responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications or systems by designing and executing manual and exploratory test cases for a software delivery team in accordance with Asurint's software test strategy.

Requirements

• Experience with software quality assurance processes and tools is required.
• Experience with issue tracking software like Jira is required.
• Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) is required.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field is required.
• Certifications or licensure: Driver's license and ability to maintain a driving record that is satisfactory to the company's liability insurance carrier is required.
• Years of relevant experience: 1 to 2 years is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with environments embracing BDD and TDD is preferred.
• Experience working on teams delivering software products in an Agile environment that practices continuous integration and continuous delivery is preferred.
• Experience with relational data stores such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL is preferred.
• Experience with CI/CD concepts is preferred.
• Experience with the legal/court system is preferred.
• Experience with background screening is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
• Relevant business management systems such as general ledger, HRIS, CRM, etc. is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the development team to understand project requirements and designs testing plans and strategies accordingly.
• Identifies testing objectives and test scope; defines test scenarios and test cases.
• Performs various types of tests, including functional, regression, integration and performance testing to identify defects or issues in the software.
• Executes test cases, records results, documents any identified bugs or anomalies.
• Documents and reports identified defects or issues in a bug-tracking system, provides detailed information on steps to reproduce expected results and actual results.
• Creates and maintains test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Ensures accurate and proper documentation of the testing process; facilitates knowledge sharing for future reference.
• Analyzes test results and provides feedback to the development team and stakeholders regarding the quality and performance of the software.
• Participates in process improvement initiatives, suggests ways to enhance the overall quality assurance process, and identifies opportunities to automate testing processes for increased efficiency.
• Seeks opportunities to learn from senior team members, participates in training programs, and gains hands-on experience in various testing methodologies and tools used in the industry.
• Other duties as required.
