About The Position

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings, seeks a Junior Project Manager working within the Libraries Program Unit. Under the supervision of a Project Manager, with limited latitude for independent judgment and action, the selected candidate will perform entry-level project management work and receive training in senior level project management responsibilities. Junior Project Manager duties will include assisting with the following tasks: maintaining a project management information system to provide data for the planning and control of project development; establishing project timeframes and cost schedules; determining and coordinating project activities required between the client agencies, contractors, and departments responsible for project completion; reviewing all schedules, reports, and orders prepared by consultants, contractors, and client agencies to assure compliance with project completion dates; checking contractors' work performance via field visits and on-site inspections. The selected candidate will also prepare management reports and resolve problems that arise in meeting schedules and assigned budgets.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related fields.
  • A master's degree in architecture that is the first professional degree in architecture from an accredited college or university.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
