About The Position

The Junior Product Analyst supports Redwood Trust’s mortgage product team in the instructional design, analysis, and optimization of Sequoia loan products and operational workflows. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mortgage product development, data analytics, and cross-functional collaboration. The Analyst will contribute to the continuous improvement of product performance, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency by leveraging data insights, competitive intelligence, and stakeholder feedback. The Analyst plays a critical role in maintaining loan product guidelines, training materials, and supporting process improvements. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual eager to grow within the mortgage and financial services industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in mortgage financial services, Jr Underwriting or processing background preferred.
  • Experience using AI driven tools ie: ChatGPT, to support product development, training material generation, and competitive analysis.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Lucidchart, VISIO, or similar platforms.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
  • Experience in project management and being able to work with multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct first-pass competitor guideline comparisons and summarize differences.
  • Monitor competitors' offerings and identify opportunities to expand or create new programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (credit, underwriting, compliance, technology) to document and refine product requirements.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to ensure that mortgage programs meet the needs of our customers and provide a superior customer experience.
  • Standardize product training decks, quick-reference guides, and comparison charts.
  • Help design scalable processes and product structures that align with regulatory and business goals.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs and product health.
  • Technical writing and illustrations through PowerPoint and email communications to support ongoing Redwood global training and Seller Specific training that support the company’s strategic initiatives.
