About The Position

We are strengthening our buying and supplier management capability and are looking for an early‑career professional to support end‑to‑end sourcing activity across a variety of categories. In this role, you will help deliver compliant, value‑for‑money outcomes while contributing to a positive stakeholder experience. You will gain hands‑on learning through structured mentoring, guided practice, and access to formal development opportunities—including support toward CIPS qualifications where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Foundational procurement/commercial experience gained through purchasing admin, category support, supplier management, finance/AP, supply chain, commercial contracts, internship, or placement.
  • Working knowledge of the buying lifecycle, from need definition to sourcing, contracting, PO management, and supplier performance.
  • Strong numeracy and basic Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) to analyse spend and present insights clearly.
  • Organised and detail‑focused, maintaining accurate trackers, clean records, and meeting deadlines.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to build rapport, ask good questions, and work constructively with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Good judgement and integrity, knowing when to escalate and following governance and confidentiality requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with e‑sourcing or P2P tools (e.g., Coupa, SAP Ariba, Workday, Jaggaer).
  • Exposure to regulated or financial‑services environments, third‑party risk or operational resilience.
  • Working toward or motivated to begin CIPS Level 3–4 (supported subject to policy)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver light‑touch sourcing activity, including competitive quotes and proposal evaluations, supporting negotiations to achieve value, quality, and risk control.
  • Support supplier due diligence (financial, information security, ESG) and ensure accurate onboarding in core systems.
  • Manage purchase‑to‑pay tasks such as raising/receipting POs, maintaining catalogues, and promoting compliance with preferred suppliers and contracts.
  • Maintain accurate spend and contract data; create simple dashboards and highlight saving or leakage opportunities.
  • Draft and maintain standard procurement documents (NDAs, SoWs, change notes) and track key obligations and milestones.
  • Act as a first point of contact for routine procurement queries, escalating appropriately and helping colleagues follow the correct buying process.
  • Adhere to Procurement policy, governance, and audit requirements to support safe, fair, and compliant purchasing.
  • Contribute to process and template improvements that simplify and enhance the buying experience.
