To learn more about playing for Team Amcor, visit www.amcor.com I LinkedIn I Glassdoor I Facebook I YouTube Job Description Position Overview: Junior Accountant: Responsible for working on accounting, payroll and financial planning and analysis function in support of the flagship plant, Allentown; key member of the Plant Accounting Team working in all areas of plant accounting as directed; interacts with plant and corporate personnel as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent
  • Ability to multi-task, meet strict deadlines and work under pressure
  • Sound problem solving/analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Excel as financial analysis tool
  • Effective team player; strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrates strength in attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Daily, weekly and month-end activities as required to ensure a complete, accurate and timely close process
  • Prepares manual journal entries for various accounting transactions
  • Provides financial and operational month-end and adhoc analyses and reporting
  • Assists in preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Audit payroll processing for completion and accuracy
  • Process plant, freight, debit/credit memo transactions (i.e. customer returns/claims, and scrap / regrind shipments), check requests and intercompany transfers
  • Assists with the coordination of internal and external audit requirements
  • Facilitate clearing of accounts payable issues, such as goods receipt/not invoiced, sales tax discrepancies, understanding pricing discrepancies, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Assist human resources with administrative/confidential tasks
