North Edge Technology, an Akima company, is seeking a junior-level Operations Engineer to support a prime contract with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This role is crucial in providing comprehensive support services for Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The Operations Engineer will be involved in various tasks including planning, building, testing, deployment, stabilization of workstation changes, software distribution, patch management, service management, and program and administrative management related tasks. The position is designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to the modernization of IT infrastructure and systems, driving innovation and value for government customers. In this role, the Operations Engineer will assist in providing operations and maintenance support for configuration management, patch management, application deployment, and device imaging of Windows-based solutions. The candidate will also provide support for Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) infrastructure, ensuring that patching and updates are performed efficiently while troubleshooting any issues that may arise. The position requires experience in supporting common applications and third-party applications running on Windows, such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft 365 Apps. The Operations Engineer will be responsible for performing administration and systems management functions to maintain the stability, interoperability, portability, security, and scalability of system architecture. This includes assisting in the testing and integration of workstation changes, implementing security and compliance features, and preparing daily system health reports. The work environment is remote, but candidates residing in the Virginia metro area are preferred for occasional on-site meetings.
