Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required (preferred fields: Engineering, Sciences (Math, Physics, Chemistry, Computer), Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance, International Trade, or related disciplines).
  • 0-2 years of experience (internships or relevant coursework in logistics, operations, or trade preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; experience with ERP systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, import/export procedures, and documentation is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of physical trades, including managing product movement, documentation, and payments, ensuring a seamless experience for customers, suppliers, and freight providers.
  • Oversee vessel/container loading and discharge operations in collaboration with internal departments, ship brokers and freight forwarders, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate data records within the ERP system, following company protocols to ensure data integrity.
  • Assist with import/export customs procedures, ensuring compliance and timely clearance.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancement.
  • Work cross-functionally with finance, credit, and compliance teams to understand the requirements of individual trades.
  • Engage in negotiations with third-party logistics and inspection service providers to optimize costs and service quality.
  • Facilitate the communication of shipment details across local and international teams.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, customers, and service providers to ensure successful execution of physical trades.
