About The Position

THE OPPORTUNITY The Junior Network Technician assists network staff with daily operations and offers support for various projects. This position involves implementation of network infrastructure (configuration and deployment) as well as day-to-day production support and customer interfacing opportunities. WHAT YOU WILL DO Survey WiFi signal strength using specialized equipment as directed by Network Staff. Survey meeting and conference rooms to support Cisco Spaces occupancy efforts. Assist with campus wide wired port reduction initiatives as directed. Assist network staff with configuration, deployment, and installation of network switches. Assist network staff with troubleshooting and problem resolution for Tier 2/3 escalations. Create logical diagrams of network closets using software as directed by Network staff. Assist with replacement of failed batteries in Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) units. Assume additional responsibilities as required. Must have strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to embrace ideas and changes created by all community members. Ability to work independently to solve problems; look for opportunities to take on responsibility; take thoughtful risks; and effectively act on new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results. Ability to anticipate and effectively handles change; demonstrate willingness to try new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions. Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Google Drive/Docs and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook/Calendar). HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK This is an on-campus position expected to work approximately 35 hours per week January 2026 through April 2026. This is a co-op position with a pay rate of $24/hr.
