About the position
Laansu is seeking a talented Junior Software Developer to contribute to software products that enhance road safety for the Department of Transportation and the public. This role involves building and supporting software solutions, working within an agile development framework, and collaborating with team members to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Receive tasks and requirements details from Technical Lead and analyze the scope of work.
- Follow agile sprint-based development schedule and unit test modules before handing them off to the Test Team.
- Assist the Test Team with load, performance, and throughput testing as required.
- Peer-review the work of colleagues and provide constructive feedback.
- Document design decisions and technical details, and take notes during meetings.
- Maintain source code version control in Azure DevOps.
- Work independently when needed and implement robust software solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- 0-3 years of work experience in software development or related field.
- 1+ years of writing object-oriented code in C#, C++, Java, or other programming languages.
- 2+ years of designing objects in relational databases.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other database technologies.
- Experience creating web application user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with at least one Object Relational Mapping (ORM) tool like Entity Framework.
- Experience with web UI frameworks like MVC, Angular, and Bootstrap.
- Experience with Azure Cloud development using Azure Data Lake Services, Data Factory, and Synapse analytics.
- Familiarity with desktop UI frameworks like Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).
- Experience building .NET Framework and ASP.NET Core web applications or APIs.
