We're looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our federal buildings group in our Honolulu office. Join us and you'll have the chance to work on state of the art industrial and commercial facilities for Federal DoD and Civilian clients as well as Defense Contractors. You'll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client's expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. You and our multi-discipline, highly interactive team will establish design bases, develop options and optimizations of selected design, and produce calculations, drawings, specifications, and other deliverables. At Jacobs, our Mechanical Engineers design HVAC, plumbing, and other building mechanical systems for government and institutional owners. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from ABET accredited program.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Building Mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency using Revit to develop contract drawings.
  • Skills to thrive in a hybrid work environment in which you have frequent and effective interaction with co-workers, supervisors, and clients virtually.

Responsibilities

  • Performing site surveys, existing facility assessments, client interviews, and initial project charrettes.
  • Developing design calculations, drawings, and specifications, including regular coordination with other design disciplines.
  • Reviewing construction submittals and providing other assistance during the construction phase of a project.
  • Communicating regularly with the entire project team, from project inception to closeout, to maintain alignment of scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
