About The Position

Searching for an entry level Corporate Staff Attorney with 1-2 years of experience in a corporate setting. Healthcare law is preferred, but not required. Experience in long term care or in-house experience is a plus. This position will be onsite in the Louisville office and will report to the Chief Legal Officer. Candidates in the Louisville area will be given preference. Ideal candidate is more of a corporate attorney, not a personal injury attorney, not a defense attorney, not a prosecution attorney.

Responsibilities

General Corporate Work
Risk management.
Drafting corporate announcements.
Filing corporate documents with state agencies.
“Corporate housework” (preparing minutes, maintaining records, presentations to the governing body, etc.)
Litigation management.
Coordinate responses to subpoenas and legal notices.
Track and manage litigation.
Coordinate with outside counsel and teammates to conduct investigations and defend against claims.
Review and summarize salient points of legal pleadings.
Facilitate or verify discovery and discovery requests.
Initiate and monitor efforts to preserve evidence (i.e., litigation holds).
Negotiate settlements
Attend ADR as needed.
Review and provide advice on a variety of regulatory and legal matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Conduct internal investigations
Draft position statements in response to EEOC and OCR claims.
