Junior Level Civil Engineer (Boston)
About The Position
Sasaki is looking for an innovative, self-driven, and creative site civil engineer with 1-3 years of experience to join our multidisciplinary firm of landscape architects, architects, planners, urban designers, marketers, graphic designers, data analysts, ecologists, and civil engineers. We believe that a range of skills and perspectives are needed to tackle complex problems. This position is based out of our Boston office. Role Description The Sasaki civil team integrates engineering excellence with innovative site design; it is our focus and passion to create livable, sustainable, and resilient communities. Our work ranges from concept design to built work, from new developments to urban parks, and can be found everywhere from Boston to Dubai. Team members will work closely with our interdisciplinary teams on stormwater management, utilities, and land development engineering through the planning, design, permitting, and construction processes. Success in this role requires strong communication skills and the ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Performs research, gathers data, and compiles information or documentation
- Engages in field research and data validation
- Conducts fundamental design studies and calculations
- Assists in the creation of quality deliverables
- Develops compelling graphic representation of work
- Efficiently utilizes AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil3D, and engineering modeling software
- Accurately researches and performs engineering calculations with limited oversight
- Understands and prepares high quality drawings, specifications, and engineering reports with limited oversight
- Understands and anticipates the need for technical processes such as permitting, engineering calculations, and engineering design coordination
- Considers sustainability, resilience, and ecologically-friendly design
