About The Position

Benjamin Franklin Charter School is looking for a Junior High Science Teacher to join our Junior High/High School Team for the 2026-2027 school year. While under the direct supervision of the Principal, the Teacher will plan, organize, and implement the school’s instructional program in a learning environment that motivates and guides students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or University
  • Arizona Teacher Certificate preferred
  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Will be required to pass a criminal background check upon hire
  • Be responsible, reliable, and punctual.

  • Positively accept direction and performance feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a dynamic hands-on inquiry based science program designed to model and inspire wonder and nurture student curiosity about the world around us
  • Support BFCS Vision, Mission, and Goals.
  • Promote and adhere to BFCS policies and procedures.
  • Provide a safe, structured environment focused on academic excellence.
  • Create a learning environment that is engaging and conducive to effective instruction; maintain standards of student behavior.
  • Prepare and follow lesson plans correlated with the prescribed curriculum and pacing guides.
  • Communicate learning objectives to students in a well-planned, organized manner using clear and precise language.
  • Monitor and assess student progress; provide ongoing feedback to students and parents, communicating respectfully and professionally at all times.
  • Rely on Socratic questioning techniques to check for student understanding, help students draw connections, and develop student reasoning.
  • Use classroom and state assessment data to inform and improve instruction.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and legible records as required by law and school policy.
  • Reflect on teaching practices and strive to improve professional competence.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
  • Participate in curriculum development programs as required.
  • Be an active presence on campus, including staff meetings, schoolwide events, parent-teacher conferences, and other scheduled meetings as required.
  • Meet any additional specific job requirements as directed.
