About The Position

The Junior Graphic Designer/Publisher Intern at APTIM will support the design and development of graphics and layouts for proposals aimed at federal, state, and local government clients, as well as commercial sectors. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to give, receive, understand, and apply feedback quickly.
  • Interest in logo design and brand creation.
  • Willingness to learn about the proposal development process.
  • Familiarity with accessible design standards or a desire to learn.
  • Enthusiasm for emerging design trends and technologies, including AI tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time and multiple tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Photography experience (headshots and/or product photography).

Responsibilities

  • Catalog, tag, and upload images into the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system.
  • Design proposal covers, charts, data visualization, infographics, and technical graphics under guidance.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to enhance design concepts.
  • Sketch and conceptualize ideas to support design development.
  • Learn and apply print and digital media standards, assisting with final file preparation.
  • Support design production by reviewing and preparing files for output.
  • Assist with formatting and graphics for PowerPoint presentations.
  • Update templates and format multipage proposals in Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign.
  • Participate in production/graphics meetings and assist with the production process.
  • Assist with physical production tasks such as printing and assembling binders.
