About The Position

MetLife Legal Plans is currently hiring a Junior Full Stack Developer for our growing Technology Department. As a Junior Full Stack Developer, you will help design and build modern web applications that support our legal and insurance technology platforms. In this role, you will primarily focus on front-end development, working with JavaScript, React, CSS, and Material UI to create intuitive and responsive user experiences for our client-facing systems. You will also gain exposure to the full stack, collaborating with the engineering team to support backend services and business logic using technologies such as Python, Django, and PostgreSQL. Your work will contribute directly to applications that power critical business operations, including systems that support financial and accounting workflows. This role is ideal for an early-career developer who enjoys building clean, functional interfaces while developing deeper full stack skills. You will work in an agile development environment, partnering with experienced engineers to write quality code, solve technical challenges, and continuously improve the systems that support our growing business. While experience with financial or accounting-related applications is helpful, it is not required. We are looking for someone who is curious, collaborative, and eager to grow as a developer.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in CS, MIS, or equivalent.
Experience building web applications
Experience building solutions for customer facing applications.
Demonstrated experience building modern web applications using microservices.
Well-honed skills and knowledge of both agile development and the OKR framework.
Familiarity with modern web development tools and frameworks.
