About The Position

This position is for young adults (16 and 17 years of age) to serve in a support function for fire ground operations.

Requirements

• Must be 16 or 17 years of age.
• Ability to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position.
• Ability to complete the medical and physical criteria as specified in the department’s Health and Fitness policy.
• Qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the firefighter physical performance test.
• Applicants who do not pass the firefighter physical performance test will not be considered further.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a support function to fire ground operations by establishing water supply, providing equipment and gear to firefighters, and relaying messages.
• Attends classes and training sessions to improve firefighting and emergency medical skills.
• Performs related duties.
