About The Position

Koniag Data Solutions, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Junior Financial Analyst with an active Secret Clearance to support KDS and our government customer in Alexandria, VA. The Junior Financial Analyst will support financial management operations, including financial analysis, reconciliation, reporting, and execution support. This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy of financial data, supporting compliance with financial regulations, and assisting leadership in achieving financial visibility and making decisions. Experience with the Defense Agency Initiative (DAI) is required to support financial transactions and reporting.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be U.S. citizens per Government requirements.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. A degree in finance, accounting, or a business-related discipline is strongly preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in DoD Financial Management is required.
  • Experience as a business analyst/project analyst/training coordinator for an OSD-level organization; candidates must demonstrate comparable skills and capabilities.
  • Experience with the Defense Agency Initiative (DAI) is required.
  • Experience with G-Invoicing is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Must be fully proficient in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and develop strong client relationships to accomplish technical tasks.
  • Ability to uphold a strict level of discretion and confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Defense Financial Manager – Preferred, not required.
  • DoD Financial Management Certification Level 2 – Preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial reconciliations, variance analysis, and transaction-level reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Support execution of financial transactions, including commitments, obligations, and expenditures, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
  • Analyze financial data and provide reporting to support leadership visibility into execution status and funding utilization.
  • Assist in researching and resolving financial discrepancies, errors, and system issues within DAI.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to track financial activity and ensure proper recording and reporting of transactions.
  • Support preparation of financial reports, including status reporting, execution tracking, and audit support documentation.
  • Assist with quarterly and year-end financial reviews, including dormant account analysis and financial data validation.
  • Utilize the Defense Agency Initiative (DAI) system to process, monitor, and report on financial transactions.
  • Support development and maintenance of financial management documentation, including SOPs and process guidance.
  • Provide support for audit activities, including data calls, audit sustainment, and financial statement support.
  • Perform DARQ reconciliations and support in the creation of obligation modifications to clear unliquidated obligations (ULOs).
