About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Estimator to support the preparation of cost estimates for federal construction contracts. This role works closely with the Senior Vice President and plays a key part in the company's preconstruction and bidding efforts. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, highly organized, and interested in long-term career growth within construction estimating and project development.

Requirements

0-3 years of experience in construction estimating, engineering, or related roles
Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software (or willingness to learn)
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with senior leadership
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with federal construction contracts is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

Assists in preparing accurate cost estimates for federal construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to understand scope and requirements
Support the Senior Vice President in bid preparation, proposal development, and pricing strategies
Perform quantity takeoffs and maintain estimating databases and spreadsheets
Request and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes
Help ensure estimates comply with federal contracting requirements and regulations
Participate in pre-bid meetings and internal strategy discussions
Maintain organized documentation for bids and historical cost data
