About The Position

The Junior Environmental Graphic Designer at Kennesaw State University plays a crucial role in enhancing user navigation through the design and documentation of architectural signage on campus. This position involves collaboration with a cross-functional team to create effective wayfinding solutions, ensuring high-quality deliverables across multiple projects. The designer will support project management and work closely with construction project management staff on both non-capital and capital projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, industrial design, interior design, architecture or relevant work experience in a related design discipline.
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license.
  • Two (2) years of environmental graphics-related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively with project managers, the design team, and university stakeholders to ensure designs align with PDC standards and guidelines.
  • Conducts site evaluations, including surveying existing conditions and taking field measurements.
  • Develops architectural floor plans and signage message schedules to determine optimal signage placement.
  • Supports the maintenance of graphic design standards and guidelines for the university, promoting consistency across various spaces and locations.
  • Assists in creating digital prototypes and mockups for presenting design concepts to clients and university stakeholders, gathering feedback and approval.
  • Manages project budgets and provides cost estimates for proposals, materials, and production.
  • Oversees the installation of diverse two- and three-dimensional signs that provide identification, direction, information, interpretation, and aesthetic enhancement across the campus.
  • Reviews construction drawings from in-house teams and external consultants to ensure alignment with project plans and effective use of design elements.
  • Performs additional related duties as required.
