Requirements
- Knowledge of basic structural engineering principals and techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be focused on providing quality work.
- Working knowledge of relevant structural concepts of bridges and other highway structures.
- Experienced in common computer applications (e.g., MS Word, Excel), experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation preferred.
- A Valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- 0 – 3 years of progressive experience in the field.
Responsibilities
- Structural analyses of bridges.
- Assist with the preparation of design calculations and details.
- Assist in the preparation of contract plans and specifications.
- Assist in the preparation of construction cost estimates.
- Assist in the review of construction submittals.
- Perform occasional field inspections of existing structures.
- Perform occasional field visits to resolve construction issues.
