Requirements

• No professional experience required; one year of technical engineering experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Research project design requirements and perform routine calculations.
• Conduct plan checks to ensure compliance with City and environmental regulatory standards.
• Prepare time and material cost estimates related to project budgets.
• Delegate routine research, design, and drafting tasks to technical staff.
• Perform field inspections and survey work to resolve routine field problems.
• Prepare estimates and feasibility reports for new or modified services and structures.
• Participate in or prepare engineering studies and reports.
• Coordinate public works-related activities with other City departments and outside agencies.
• Provide staff support to City boards, commissions, and committees as assigned.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and the public.
