About The Position

Leidos is seeking a qualified Junior Electrical Engineer with a concentration in radio frequency (RF) technologies to support a Department of Defense (DoD) research and development program. The successful candidate will contribute to technical efforts in the areas of concept exploration, technology development, experimentation, documentation, and system integration. This position will be conducted in a hybrid working environment, with duties carried out both from a home office and designated technical or laboratory facilities in Lubbock, TX. The allocation of work locations will depend upon specific task requirements and the associated security, facility, and equipment constraints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with up to two years of relevant academic or professional experience
  • Degree must be in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Ability and willingness to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
  • Proficiency in oral and written English communication
  • Competency with Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Ability to travel up to 10% within the continental United States

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with the Texas Tech University Electrical Engineering (TTU EE) program, Army Research Laboratory (ARL), or a similar government research entity
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Relevant experience in electrical and RF engineering, pulsed power systems, time-domain electromagnetics, engineering modeling and simulation, application design for military contexts, and full lifecycle project execution

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and execute experimental investigations involving RF and electromagnetic signals and their interactions with various materials
  • Develop mathematical models or simulation parameters to analyze, adjust, and replicate RF signal behaviors
  • Design and refine prototype tools used for RF signal generation, measurement, observation, and optimization
  • Analyze and summarize technical findings and present results to government stakeholders and technical team members
  • Review and assess theoretical and applied research from external sources and provide technical recommendations to customer representatives
  • Identify, develop, adapt, and evaluate specialized instrumentation used for RF signal transmission, generation, and analysis
  • Collaborate both independently and within small technical teams; coordinate with government personnel, subject matter experts, and other partner organizations
  • Demonstrate initiative, effective communication, and the ability to work within geographically distributed teams comprising government, academic, and contractor personnel
