Wabtec Corporation is seeking a dedicated individual to join the Railroad Friction Products group/division as a Dynamometer Technician. This role is crucial in supporting the operation, maintenance, and repair of Dynamometer test equipment, which plays a key part in research into factors affecting friction and other key performance characteristics. The successful candidate will assist in setting up equipment, running tests, and preparing detailed Dynamometer test reports. This position not only requires technical skills but also a commitment to safety and collaboration within a team environment. As a Dynamometer Technician, you will be responsible for following all company-established safety and employment rules. Your typical day will involve assisting in the setup, calibration, and operation of dynamometer test equipment, performing routine maintenance and repairs, troubleshooting and diagnosing issues, and documenting test results. You will communicate findings to senior technicians and engineers, maintain accurate records of test results and equipment maintenance, and ensure a clean and organized work area. Regular on-site attendance is required, and you may be assigned additional duties as needed. The physical demands of this job include the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively. You may also be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat is expected, along with occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
