Our premium archival consulting and digitization services are specifically tailored to protect and preserve family and company stories, history, and legacy before it’s too late. Job Summary: This role will work closely with the Archival Consulting and Project Management teams to meet project phase deadlines and deliver quality work. The work consists of documenting necessary collection components and metadata during intake, preprocessing documents for capture, scanning and image processing according to project requirements, quality assurance (QA) on all digitization workflow steps, and uploading materials to digital repositories. This is an interior-facing role with no client contact.

Requirements

  • Experience: No previous digitization experience necessary, but theoretical or practical experience in library, museum, or collections settings may benefit this role.
  • Education: Some College experience preferred.
  • Adherence to Process and Standards: Ability to follow documented processes and workflows and to adapt to changes in these processes based on individual project needs.
  • Self-Motivated:  Enjoys quiet, self-driven, independent work that requires looking at computer screens for most of the day. Able to achieve attainable weekly goals.
  • Detail Oriented: Has a keen eye for accuracy and precision ensuring that each piece is accurately digitized, cataloged, and stored without errors.
  • Physical Demands: Comfortable handling fragile collection materials according to internal guidelines. Can reasonably move/lift bankers’ boxes or other moderately heavy storage materials.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collections intake & preprocessing documents for capture
  • Assist with labor associated with discovery/sample run
  • Operate scanners to capture a variety of material types
  • Perform QA on scanned Items and processed Items
  • Perform image-related tasks such as crop, deskew, file rename, file export
  • Upload and QA digital library platforms
