About The Position

As a Junior DevOps / Platform Engineer, you will help build and sustain the infrastructure that enables advanced analytics, applications, and operational capabilities to run reliably at scale. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on problem solving, automation, and working alongside experienced teammates to improve system resilience, performance, and deployment speed in secure environments. Schedule and Work Details Location: NBP322 Schedule: Full-time, on-site with participation in on-call rotations Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (required) Here's What Your Day-to-Day Might Look Like You’ll spend your time supporting containerized platforms and deployment pipelines that keep mission systems running smoothly. One day may involve troubleshooting a Kubernetes deployment issue or optimizing cluster performance. Another day, you might be writing automation scripts, assisting with CI/CD improvements, or coordinating with developers to roll out new releases. You’ll also monitor system health, respond to production alerts, and document processes so the team can operate efficiently and consistently. Technology Stack This environment leverages modern DevOps and platform technologies including RKE2 Kubernetes distributions, Docker containers, Bash automation, Unix/Linux systems, CI/CD tooling, infrastructure automation frameworks, AWS cloud services, and observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack to ensure reliable, scalable operations. Requirements

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (required)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university, plus relevant experience supporting IT systems or infrastructure. Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized environments (RKE2 preferred)
  • Experience deploying and managing Docker containers
  • Proficiency with Bash scripting and Unix/Linux systems
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts and automated deployment pipelines
  • Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with development teams and stakeholders
  • Willingness to participate in on-call support for production environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Jenkins
  • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • Experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack
  • Prior experience supporting production infrastructure in secure environments
