About The Position

CACI is seeking a candidate to design components or portions of electronic security systems using AutoCAD. Successful candidate will collect information and prepare original drawings to complete the installation design plan in support of field service operations. Will determine the specifications and requirements for each project and work with Project Managers and Subject Matter Experts to ensure the accuracy of each installation plan.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience using computer aided design software.
  • Ability to read schematics and technical documentation to ensure equipment meets the latest OEM release/revision level.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of Applications
  • Drafting Certification
  • Secret Clearance is required

  • Experience designing electronic security systems.
  • Ability to apply an understanding of electronic security systems and device installation practices and methods to plan installation tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure drawings are precise and meet specifications.
  • Understanding of Engineering and Design Principles
  • Strong Knowledge of Drafting Techniques
  • Ability to recognize design flaws, analyze issues with layouts or structures, and identify solutions to improve designs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of designs and complete engineering drawings for electronic security systems (ESS) to include CCDE, IDS, ACS, CCTV, supporting communications and power networks, and ancillary equipment
  • Develop floor plans, site maps, and schematic diagrams using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) to represent the installation of security systems.
  • Compile equipment and materials parts lists for installation design packages.
  • Develop and maintain templates for computer aided design models, ensuring compliance with applicable ASME and A/E/C standards.
  • Review designs to ensure accuracy, adherence to project specifications, and compliance with industry standards for security systems
  • Ensure that as-built drawings are updated to reflect the final configuration of the installed system.
  • Work closely with security engineers, designers, and installation teams to ensure that designs are accurate and feasible for implementation.
  • Coordinate with engineers and project managers to design security systems that integrate with existing infrastructure.
