As a Junior Data Scientist at IBM, you will engage in a structured apprenticeship program aimed at solving business-related problems through data-driven techniques. This role involves applying the scientific method to real-world business scenarios, preparing data for analysis, and utilizing various analytical algorithms to build predictive models. You will also learn to communicate data insights effectively to different audiences and master technologies for model deployment.

  • Work collaboratively with experienced data scientists and mentors.
  • Clean and prepare data for statistical and machine learning modeling.
  • Apply the scientific method to business scenarios.
  • Build models using various analytical algorithms to explain data relationships and predict scenarios.
  • Translate data insights into business value and communicate results to different audiences.
  • Master technologies for model deployment.
  • Willingness to complete the requirements of the apprenticeship program.
  • Some knowledge or experience in one or more programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, PHP, C#, Objective-C, C/C++, Python, Ruby, or functional languages (Haskell, Scala, F#, Clojure).
  • Python programming knowledge
