About The Position

The Junior Custodian position at Marshfield High School involves performing custodial duties and minor repairs. The role is essential for maintaining sanitation control and checking for safety hazards within the school environment. The Junior Custodian will receive supervision from the school principal, Assistant Facilities Director, and Senior Custodian, and will not supervise any other employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Reliability and punctuality.
• Ability to take direction and complete assigned tasks.
• Pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and secure school facility.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, twist, squat, kneel, stoop, climb, and reach.
• Ability to use custodial equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
• Some custodial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning and custodian duties which also involves furniture moving, limited grounds maintenance, and minor repair work.
• Employs basic building maintenance skills such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating, and cleaning.
• Reports needs for major repairs to the senior custodian.
• Keeps custodian's room neat and orderly, and reports supply orders to the senior custodian.
• Mows and trims lawn and hedges; cleans snow from entrances and sidewalks.
• Assists in control of sanitation.
• Checks the school for safety hazards and reports any deficiencies.
• Maintains effective working relationships with administration, staff, parents, and students.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
