About The Position

The opportunity Delaware North Travel is hiring a full-time Cook to join our team at Tampa Airport in Tampa, Florida. As a Cook, you will be a visible leader in the kitchen, partnering with the management team to deliver food to quality standards. On July 10, 2025, Delaware North announced its US-based Travel Hospitality Services (THS) business will be sold to Areas, a global leader in travel dining and retail. The sale is expected to be finalized in the fourth quarter of 2025. Upon completion of the sale, all THS team members will become part of the Areas. Areas will operate 369 locations in 27 airports and 12 travel plazas nationwide, with a U.S. workforce of over 6,000. Globally, Areas serves travelers in 11 countries with 2,200 points of sale and over $3 billion in annual revenue.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • At least 2 years of previous experience in a back-of-house foodservice position is required.
  • Participation in a culinary program is preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes.
  • Basic math skills; ability to understand, calculate, and follow recipe measurements and proportions.

Responsibilities

  • Review menus and guest orders to determine the type and quantities of food to be prepared, properly measure and portion all food items.
  • Comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Utilize kitchen equipment to prepare food items such as knives, slicers, whips, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, ovens, etc.
  • Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctly.
  • Ensure the freshness and quality of all menu items and package all products to proper specifications.
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelines.
  • Keep workstations, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked.
  • Follow and uphold all health codes and sanitation regulations.
  • Perform other duties assigned.
