About The Position

SMX is searching for a Junior Construction Assistant to support our government client at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. The Junior Construction Assistant will be responsible for providing secretarial support to assigned Construction Surveillance Technicians; establishing and maintaining records; compiling and distributing materials and reports; and responding to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources. Additional responsibilities include: Coordinate schedules, meetings and activities for the purpose of supporting Construction Surveillance staff with operational activities Maintain a wide variety of files and records (manual/computer; confidential/non-confidential) for the purpose of providing documentation in accordance with construction surveillance requirements Monitor assigned departmental activities and/or program components (e.g. travel arrangements, meetings and events, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that goals are achieved, target dates are met, legal and/or administrative requirements are satisfied Prepare a variety of written materials (e.g. reports, memos, letters, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information Respond to a variety of inquiries from internal and external parties for the purpose of providing information, facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction Supports assigned Construction Surveillance personnel for the purpose of providing assistance with administrative functions Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment

Requirements

  • Clearance Required: Must be able to obtain Top Secret
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • The ability to multi-task and successfully prioritize workload
