About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Platform Engineer to design, implement, and maintain cloud solutions. This position is on-site in Chicago. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable and secure cloud/hybrid environments, optimize performance, and support enterprise-level applications.

Requirements

  • 3 years' experience with Cloud Solutions architecture, hybrid enterprise architecture, networking architecture, networking troubleshooting, security compliance, performance tuning, technologies (e.g. Windows and Linux IaaS, SAP, BCDR, Security, Management, Storage, Networking).
  • Microsoft Azure is the preferred area of cloud expertise for this role but not required if candidate can demonstrate competence in the functional areas.
  • M365 platform administration a plus.
  • Scripting and automation with IaC tools (terraform, CloudFormation, bicep) a plus.
  • Azure Associate or Expert level cloud certification is a plus.
  • Other cloud (AWS, GCP) Associate or professional level cloud certifications is also a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Cloud Architecture and Deployment: Expertise in designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Networking and Security: Strong understanding of cloud and hybrid infrastructure networking (VPCs, load balancers, DNS) and security best practices (encryption, firewalls, compliance).
  • System Administration: Hands-on experience with operating systems (Linux/Unix/Windows).
  • Problem-Solving and Optimization: Skilled in troubleshooting, monitoring cloud performance, and optimizing cost and resource utilization.
  • Identity and Access Management: Configure and manage IAM roles, policies, and permissions across cloud platforms (e.g., AWS IAM, Azure AD, OCI IAM, Google IAM).
  • Logging and Monitoring: Integrate with existing or native logging and monitoring features in cloud platforms to monitor and alert on resource metrics such as CPU, memory, network utilization.
  • Incident Response: Investigate and resolve performance issues, resource failures, and outages.
  • Documentation: Maintain updated architecture diagrams, SOPs, and configuration details.
  • Training: Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions for team members on cloud platform features and best practices.
  • Data Architecture: Under the guidance of Senior Cloud Engineer, collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions using cloud native data services like Data Factory, Synapse, and Databricks.
