About The Position

As a Junior Cloud Developer, you will play a pivotal role in building and optimizing cloud infrastructure and services to meet the needs of mission-critical applications. You will leverage your expertise to create innovative, scalable, and secure cloud-based solutions that address both current and future business challenges. Your role will involve the full lifecycle of cloud service development, from initial design and prototyping to deployment, operations, and ongoing improvement, ensuring high availability, performance, and security standards are met. You will apply deep subject matter knowledge to solve complex business and technical issues. You will work on problems of diverse scope, often acting as a project or team lead. You are expected to make independent decisions using sound judgment, consulting with peers and leadership when appropriate, while driving team collaboration and validating solutions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and development partners, to deliver robust cloud solutions that provide business value and align with the company’s technology strategy. You will also contribute to the enhancement of HPE's Cloud Services portfolio by introducing new service offerings that cater to multiple platforms, applications, and system environments. Your strong technical skills and independent problem-solving abilities will enable you to tackle complex issues, while your leadership and collaborative approach will guide the team in decision-making processes and ensure effective execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in cloud development, architecture/system design & improving best practises to enhance security posture using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes and it’s components. We currently have EKS, AKS, GKE and self-managed k8s clusters.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and infrastructure services.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible), concepts around Disaster Recovery and familiarity with version control.
  • Proficient in programming languages (2+ yrs) such as Python, Go, or JavaScript, with the ability to write clean, scalable code.
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture and container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to streamline software delivery.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to guide team decision-making, manage projects, and mentor peers.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect).
  • Kubernetes certification.
  • Experience with multi-cloud environments and hybrid cloud deployments.
  • Knowledge of database management systems, both SQL and NoSQL, in cloud environments.
  • Experience with serverless computing architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and implement cloud-based solutions tailored to the needs of mission-critical applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Develop innovative approaches to solve complex technical problems, utilizing deep technical expertise in cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Lead technical efforts across multiple projects, providing direction, mentoring, and expertise to ensure successful delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., project managers, DevOps engineers, product managers) to ensure efficient deployment, operation, and support of cloud engagements.
  • Optimize the performance, security, and cost-effectiveness of cloud solutions through proactive monitoring and auto-remediation mechanism, troubleshooting bottlenecks, and implement good governance in security and config mgmt. aspects of cloud & k8s. Good understanding observability and logging mechanism, concepts around auto-remediation.
  • Contribute to the development of cloud service offerings, identifying new opportunities to enrich HPE’s Cloud Services portfolio.
  • Ensure cloud architecture and solutions comply with security standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership in the implementation of DevOps best practices and CI/CD pipelines for cloud environments.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and a mentor to less experienced team members, fostering knowledge-sharing and growth across the team.
