About The Position

National Energy Practice is continuing to grow. We are adding a Junior Civil Engineer to support a wide variety of energy projects from concept through completion in a dynamic consulting environment. This role will focus on civil engineering design and analysis, working closely with senior professionals to gain hands-on experience while contributing to projects in renewable energy, utility transmission, energy storage, and related sectors. With decades of national expertise, Tetra Tech brings unmatched technical knowledge and a strong understanding of energy development—from planning and siting to evaluation, permitting, design, construction, and operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 0-3 years of professional engineering experience.
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and HydroCAD.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Support civil engineering design for renewable energy, storage, utility transmission, and related projects.
  • Perform stormwater compliance inspections for ongoing projects.
  • Prepare stormwater management plans (including SWPPPs) and conduct hydrologic modeling.
  • Support nationwide engineering and design initiatives across the Tetra Tech network.
  • Assist with construction administration tasks, including submittal review, RFIs, and site visits.
  • Prepare plans, drawings, and design documentation under supervision of project managers and engineering leads.
  • Maintain safety awareness at all times and report health and safety concerns.
  • Pursue continuous professional development to build technical knowledge and industry awareness.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.
