About The Position

As a Junior Chemist at Bentley Labs, you’ll work under the mentorship of our R&D Manager to turn product briefs into reality. This is a hands-on role where you’ll learn the ropes of lab batches, stability testing, and the journey from concept to shelf.

Requirements

1+ years of experience in cosmetic formulation development and R&D.
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related fields.
Strong time and project management skills.
Knowledge of basic regulatory requirements (FDA, CTFA and PCPC) for formulation.
Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices(cGMP)
A proactive communicator who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
Creativity and flexibility.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing OTC and non-OTC products (skin, hair, and sun care), using your chemistry foundation to hit the technical and aesthetic goals for each project.
Prepare formulas for customer samples and gain hands-on experience reformulating them based on feedback.
Review Product Development Requests (PDRs) and work with Sales Executives to ensure you have a clear understanding of the customer’s vision.
Develop the detailed "roadmap" for success, including order of addition and processing parameters for successful lab-scale results.
Stay curious about emerging ingredients and technologies, helping to incorporate fresh solutions into our new products.
Work with the team to improve formula performance and find ways to make production more efficient and cost-effective.
Learn to juggle multiple projects within established timelines, prioritizing your daily lab work for optimal results.
Keep precise R&D records following GLP and cGMP standards, while working with Regulatory to meet all compliance needs.
Contribute to a positive work culture by following health and safety procedures and maintaining a clean, professional lab environment.
