About The Position

A new exciting opportunity has become available for a Junior Category Manager in our Dandenong South, Victoria branch , to support the delivery of the Procurement strategy through the management of allocated product categories under the guidance of the Head of Category. The Junior Category Manager will be responsible for supplier relationships, range maintenance, and commercial management within assigned categories, while supporting the broader Category Team in executing range, brand, and promotional strategies. The role will have shared accountability for achieving sales, margin and supply objectives withing assigned Categories.

Requirements

• 2+ years in a procurement, buying, or category support role
• Demonstrated experience managing or supporting product categories, pricing, and supplier relationships
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Commercially aware and analytically minded
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn

Responsibilities

• Manage allocated categories to deliver sales and margin objectives, with oversight from the Head of Category.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships and support negotiations on trading terms and pricing.
• Support the development and implementation of range strategies, including exclusive brand initiatives.
• Monitor inventory performance, working capital, and supplier service levels in collaboration with the Inventory and Supply Chain teams.
• Conduct market analysis and category reporting to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
