The Junior Business Analyst - Data Visualization & Automation position at the Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining is an entry-level role designed for individuals eager to explore data insights and enhance operations through technology.   • Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI.
  • Automate business processes using low-code/no-code platforms such as Microsoft Power Apps and Google App Sheet.
  • Learn the current platform in use and assist in the transition to Salesforce, including supporting team members throughout the process.
  • Learn and utilize Salesforce effectively, supporting and training others in the division once the transition is complete.
  • Assist with resolving issues related to both the current platform and Salesforce during and after the transition.
  • Partner with various teams to gather data, streamline operations, and ensure efficiency.
  • Manage the intake, review, and routing of regulatory forms under Rule R649-8.
  • Perform quality control checks, verify well information, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Produce and maintain reports for internal and public use, responding to inquiries as needed.
  • Assist colleagues by learning their responsibilities and providing support as required.
  • Organize meetings, create agendas, and document notes for distribution.
  • Ensure the accuracy of recorded data through periodic audits and maintain records in the database.
  • Recent graduate with a degree in Business, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) and low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Apps, Google App-Sheet).
  • Strong communication skills to effectively teach, support, and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment while managing multiple tasks.
  • Experience or knowledge in the oil and gas industry or a strong willingness to learn.
