About The Position

GCA is seeking a Junior AV/VTC Network Engineer to support our contract with the U.S. Army TRADOC VTC/AV Support Services program. This position will assist the Lead Engineer with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Video Teleconferencing (VTC) and Audio-Visual (AV) systems. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of networking concepts as they relate to AV/VTC environments and a willingness to grow technically within the role. Duties to include: Assist with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network switches and related infrastructure Support day-to-day operations of LAN connectivity for AV/VTC systems and conference room environments Assist with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of AV/VTC systems and components Support Cisco VTC codecs and related video conferencing equipment Troubleshoot AV signal flow, audio/video distribution, and endpoint connectivity Perform cable installation, termination, labeling, and testing (CAT6, HDMI, audio, control cabling, etc.) Assist with wiring and dressing AV/VTC racks according to schematics and drawings Provide on-site support for conference rooms, classrooms, and briefing environments Work with IP-based AV systems and ensure proper endpoint connectivity within existing network infrastructure Maintain system documentation, diagrams, and service records

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, subnetting, ports, latency, and connectivity troubleshooting) as applied to AV/VTC systems
  • Familiarity with Cisco VTC codecs and video conferencing technologies
  • Understanding of audio/video signal flow and AV integration principles
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and rack layouts
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio
  • Active Secret clearance
  • IAT Level I Certification (CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+, or higher)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network switches and related infrastructure

  • Work with IP-based AV systems and ensure proper endpoint connectivity within existing network infrastructure
  • Maintain system documentation, diagrams, and service records
