About The Position

Our law firm is looking for the next associate attorney to assist in providing legal counsel to clients. You will work closely with our senior partners and associates, conduct legal research, draft documents, and maintain client files. If you’ve recently graduated from law school, have excellent fact-finding and communication skills, and are ready to jump-start your career in the legal industry, we want to hear from you! Requirements

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar
  • Experience practicing estate planning, probate, or elder law
  • Strong legal drafting, research, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
  • Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate and clear approach
  • Experience with court filings and managing ongoing litigation or administrative proceedings
  • Comfortable reviewing and providing feedback on work product from paralegals and support staff

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with MassHealth regulations and Medicaid eligibility preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct paid strategy sessions for estate planning, probate, and Medicaid matters
  • Lead the engagement process during EP strategy sessions, ensuring contracts and fees are completed and collected
  • Conduct design meetings with clients to develop legal strategies
  • Conduct review meetings with clients to explain post-appointment responsibilities and answer questions
  • Review and edit EP drafts prepared by support staff
  • Review and edit initial drafts of probate petitions and related documents, ensuring legal accuracy before submission to clients
  • Manage and prepare probate filings
  • Review and analyze Medicaid client documents for completeness and accuracy before submission to MassHealth
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with the court, managing filings, follow-ups, and any required communications
  • Maintain ongoing client communication, providing status updates and addressing questions or concerns throughout the case
