Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials
- Active and good-standing membership with the Texas Bar (required)
- 2–4 years of substantive experience in complex commercial litigation and/or civil tort defense
- Experience at a large law firm or elite litigation-focused practice strongly preferred
- Solid command of Texas state and federal procedural rules and substantive law
- Proven ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously with precision and attention to detail
Nice To Haves
- Experience with breach of contract disputes, shareholder litigation, energy-related matters, or insurance coverage defense
- Background in appellate practice or substantial trial-level motion drafting
- Strong independent judgment and the ability to rapidly master new legal and factual issues
- Excellent oral advocacy and client-facing communication skills
- Genuine interest in a collaborative, in-office environment that values mentorship and teamwork
Responsibilities
- Developing sophisticated, evidence-driven case theories and litigation strategies from the outset of each engagement
- Drafting and refining pleadings, discovery motions, dispositive motions (including summary judgment), and pre-trial submissions
- Conducting in-depth legal research supporting complex statutory and common law arguments
- Managing all aspects of discovery, including drafting discovery requests, overseeing e-discovery processes, and preparing for and defending depositions
- Assisting in the preparation of fact and expert witnesses for deposition and trial testimony
