About The Position

The Junior Administrator, IT Network position at AltaMed is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting the organization's network infrastructure. This includes managing firewalls, switches, routers, and monitoring systems, as well as assisting various teams such as Systems, Security, Clinical Applications, and Data Engineering. The role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and security of AltaMed's IT network, contributing to the overall mission of providing quality healthcare to underserved communities.

Requirements

  • Cisco networking certifications (CCNA, CCNP) preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in deploying and maintaining IT Network technologies required.
  • Knowledge of routing and switching to implement and maintain network solutions, preferably with Cisco technologies.
  • Experience with wireless technologies preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of network security architectures (e.g., Firewalls, VPNs, ACL, IDS/IPS).
  • Experience in virtualization and cloud systems preferred.
  • Experience supporting solutions with high availability and real-time monitoring preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and network protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain AltaMed's network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, and routers.
  • Support and monitor network systems to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Assist other teams such as Systems, Security, Clinical Applications, and Data Engineering with network-related tasks.
  • Rack and cable network equipment as needed.
  • Troubleshoot network issues using packet capture and other tools.
