Explore more at www.wearealchemy.com POSITION OVERVIEW: 3 month contract - short term role The Junior Accountant supports Alchemy’s U.S. finance operations by ensuring accuracy and efficiency across daily accounting activities. This role is responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and assisting with month-end closings. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset are essential to maintaining smooth financial processes and supporting business growth.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years’ experience in a similar accounting or finance role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Working knowledge of sales tax principles and accounting processes
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Process-oriented with a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Process purchase orders and invoices for both inventory and non-inventory ítems
  • Perform 3-way matching on inventory-related purchases and follow up on discrepancias
  • Reconcile supplier statements and review supplier aging
  • File invoices, statements, and financial documents accurately
  • Handle purchase and staff expense inquiries
  • Check Proforma and final invoices, ensuring correct tax accounting treatment
  • Provide customer account statements or overviews as required
  • Monitor open sales orders and process customer payments and receipts
  • Finalize invoicing to customers upon shipment and reconcile e-commerce sales to bank payments
  • Process and track short shipments, RMAs, and credit notes after necessary approvals
  • Conduct bank and general ledger reconciliations
  • Work with spreadsheets, sales, and purchase ledgers to ensure accuracy of data
  • Assist with cash flow forecasting and general financial reporting
  • Maintain organized financial files and documentation
