About The Position

Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Junior Accountant - AP applies bookkeeping principles to the maintenance of the accounting and payroll records:

Requirements

  • AA/AS in Accounting or related field may apply with accounting experience.
  • Experience in a professional office environment.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to effectively communicate information and ideas both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Cost allocates and enters Accounts payables in accounting system
  • Create and submit 1099’s at year end
  • Runs Accounts Payables ACH payments, Bill pay, and Checks on a weekly basis, or as needed
  • Works with vendors on payments, invoice issues, and scheduling
  • Distribute W-9’s and enter/update/inactivate vendors in accounting system and in vendor master file
  • Completes monthly liquidation of encumbrances that are expired
  • Create Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) and Requests for Quotation (RFQ’s)
  • Maintains tangible property list based on Accounts Payable received and creates file folder for fixed assets
  • Perform the other Accounting duties when staff are unavailable.
  • Update Junior Accountant-AP Standard Operating Procedure as needed
  • Administration has the authority to assign additional duties as seen fit for the benefit of the organization
